I wanted to make a split-pot game that wasn't based on luck. This is a 4 card stud game (1 down, 2 up, 1 down). There is a betting round after each of the last three cards. After the final betting round, everyone reveals their cards. Whichever two players can combine to form the best 5 card poker hand win and split the pot. This is a very unique variant of Wonder Twin (see above). Play is the same with two exceptions. (1) In the end, whoever contributes the most cards to the best poker hand gets the ENTIRE pot. (2) If a player folds, starting with the player to his left and moving clockwise, each player gets a chance to call for the person wishing to fold. If someone calls for that person, he adds to the pot what that person owes, and that person has not folded. The strategy is to keep players in who might contribute to your winning hand. This is a 7 card stud game. At the start of the game, 8s are wild. If a card is dealt face up that is one higher or lower than the current wild, that card value becomes the new wild. For example, if 6s are wild, they will remain wild unless a 5 or 7 is dealt face up. This is a 7 card stud game. Any time a player is to get an up card, the dealer reveals the top and asks if the person wants it. If they do, they get it. If not, then the revealed card is placed at the bottom of the deck, and the player is dealt the top card of the deck. One variant is to force players to pay a certain amount into the pot when they choose not to take the revealed card. Another variant, called "Monty Hallski", is to add two jokers to the deck after everyone receives their down cards. If a player is dealt a joker face up, he immediately folds, and the joker is shuffled back into the deck. If a player gets a joker face down, he reveals it and is given a new card. |
